Workshop Topics

10am-11:30am – The endocannabinoid system, cannabis and cannabinoids, the clinical application of cannabinoid therapeutics for pets. Presented by Dr. Tim Shu is the founder and chief executive officer of VETCBD. Dr. Shu founded VETCBD so pets could safely benefit from the multiple therapeutic uses of cannabis. By combining his expertise in veterinary medicine with his knowledge of medical cannabis, Dr. Shu formulates VETCBD products to be safe and effective for use in animals. Dr. Shu’s work on cannabis and pets has garnered international attention and has been featured by The Today Show, CNBC, and the New York Times.

1pm – Pet safety and emergency care. Presented by Jaime Ford

  • Managing emergencies (what they are, what to do and how to keep you and your pets safe in the case of one)
  • Local environmental and household exposures (rattlesnakes, blue-green algae, compost, marijuana, xylitol, salmon poisoning, etc.)
  • Species and breed predisposition to certain ailments (bloat, spinal issues, pancreatitis, bleeding splenic tumors, etc.)
